Dear Lord, we praise and worship you for you are sovereign, holy, just, and good. And although we often do not understand all your ways, we know that you do what is best for your name and your people. We thank you for the gift of children and we remember once again, that they are not ours, but yours. We hold Chase, Charissa, & Chelsea lightly in our hands and ask only for the simple privilege of being their guardians on your behalf. Allow us to raise these precious ones that they may glorify your name to the ends of the earth. We know & understand that you alone are God and we submit ourselves to your good and perfect will. -Young & Yu Ran
Chase is doing well. After a round of hydrocortisone to help restrict the blood vessels, his blood pressure has stabilized and he is completely off the blood-pressure medicine. After 24 hours off the medication, the doctors will decide whether or not he can feed on Mommy's milk. Another Chase episode today. He removed his ventilator, thinking that he could breathe on his own. But alas, the nursed had to rescue him once again. One step at a time Chase...
Thank You God for Chase's progress... ...his love endures forever.
Charissa is doing okay. She is still on both dopamine (20 mcg) and dobutamine (14 mcg). Her blood pressure keeps going up and down and the doctors are still a bit baffled. They are giving Charissa a continuous line of hydrocortisone and they are hoping that this will resolve the blood pressure issue for her as it did for Chase.
Lord, may the hydrocortisone be your means to Charissa's health... ...his love endures forever
Chelsea is still in very critical condition. She's still maxed out on all her drugs and her blood pressure is barely viable, but she is fighting! All the human means by which God may heal her have been used up. Only God's grace can save her from her infection & low blood pressure.
Lord, may Chelsea, whom you have rescued from death twice, be rescued once more... ...his love endures forever
Yu Ran & I are being completely re-worked by the Lord. Already, I sense the master reworking our hearts to be more in line with His. He has taught us suffering, compassion, love and most importantly sacrifice. We marvel even more at how God was able to send his only son to die, while we were still sinners (Rom 5:8). Amazing. God indeed is good...
Being reworked in his loving hands,
Young & Yu Ran

Thank you for giving your time and your energy towards the maintenance of this blog, during what must be the most difficult days of your life. Elizabeth and I are praying throughout the day, and your blog enables us to do so with specificity and timeliness.
We have been asking that Jesus stand with each of your little ones, holding their hands, breathing into their bodies His powerful Spirit of life and of health. We pray that God will do what no medicine, no machine, no nurse and no doctor can do: miraculously grow all three of your children into perfect health. We ask that Chase, Charissa, and Chelsea feel no pain and endure no suffering through this ordeal, but rather that they feel the warm, comforting ministrations of His angels that surround them and fill them with complete peace. And we pray that same peace for you, Young and Yu-Ran, that you would find rest... and be given His wisdom whenever difficult decisions need to be made.
With much love, and remaining vigilant in our prayers for all of you,
Elizabeth & Tobias
I lit three more candles today, and wore a pink shirt for Chelsea. I even got a haircut to change things up, like how a baseball player changes up a routine for superstition.
I also of course spent my lunch hour at church, praying for all three, and also for you guys, Young and Yu Ran. I still hope to God that I will be able to spoil all three of them as their uncle.
Dear Young and Yu Ran,
You do not know me, but I work with your neighbor Antony (A.C.) Chan. My wife, Jenn-Jen, gave birth to our twin girls, Katelynn and Daria, back on January 28th when they were at twenty five weeks gestation. A.C. just informed me of your situation and need for prayer. As a fellow believer in Christ, I would like you to know that I am lifting up all of your children and especially Chelsea to His healing hands. I will also send you a direct e-mail to reach out. Having been through a similar, yet different experience, I can relate to your struggles and fears. Our girls are currently and temporarily seventy five miles apart at separate hospitals, but are doing relatively well. I will be reading through your blog to catch up with everything that has happened, but please know that you have another brother in the Lord keeping you and your family in prayer. Since my wife's hospitalization ten days before our girls were born, I have also kept a blog, initially set up as my personal prayer journal and means to communicate Katelynn and Daria's progress. God has used the blog to reach many, and it is my belief that He has brought me to you.
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you wil lcall upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with your heart." - Jeremiah 29:11-13 NIV
Heavenly Father, you know the burden upon the hearts of Young and Yu Ran. I ask in the name of Jesus that you work a miracle of healing that is beyond the comprehension of the doctors. You are the great physician and all things are possible. Please give the Choi family the strength and comfort only You can provide. Amen.
Praying for you in Christ's name,
Gordon Owyang
